Fat Tuesday |
| Fat
Tuesday is upon us. Pancakes piled with butter and syrup, with eggs and sausage
and bacon - before we begin Lent. Our annual Pancake Dinner will be this Tuesday, March 8. Set up and cooking
from 3 until 5 PM. Pancakes from 5 until
7. We would like this to be a community event, so please invite your
friends. |
Indaba |

Everyone
is invited to join the Indaba discussion. Next meeting will be Sunday, March 13, starting at 9:30.
We'll have breakfast, watch an episode of Andy Griffith and discuss its
theological meaning! |
Spring Program |

| The combined Summers County and Mercer County
Community Chorus will perform a Spring
Program at Ascension on Saturday, April 2nd at 4 PM. Fellowship with light refreshments will

Ash Wednesday |
| Ash Wednesday we are invited to a
covered dish dinner at the First Presbyterian Church at 6 PM. They will provide
the fish. Everyone can bring a pot luck dish. Then at 7 PM there will be the
Ash Wednesday Service with imposition of ashes. This service is a good way to
begin our walk through the holy season of Lent. |
Vestry |

Vestry
meeting will be Sunday, March 20th,
starting at 9:30. Anyone can attend
vestry meetings. We'll be discussing visions for Ascension Church. That's also
the day on Bishop Mike's annual visitation at Ascension. He will be invited to
attend our vestry meeting, he will be the celebrant at the 11:00 service and
we'll have a special coffee hour in the McNeer room following the service. Plan
to come and invite your friends. |
Dinner at the Alderson Hospitality House |

We will be serving dinner on the 26th of March at the
Alderson Hospitality House. The hospitality House suggest a kid friendly
dish like Macaroni and cheese, Hot dogs, etc and casseroles, soups for the
adult. If we take it in disposable pans then we can leave the leftovers
and they can use them the following weekend. Thanks for all your
support. Patty Grady will be bringing a sign up list on Sunday.
